Industry Expert : Didier Legros
Didier is a management consultant with a strong expertise in the gas and power utilities markets as well as in the oil and gas industries, having worked in these sectors for more than 30 years at technical, managerial and executive levels, and with a strong international experience on various continents. He was particularly involved in regulatory changes of the UK energy market in the 1990’s a
s CEO of Elf Gas and Power.
As a consultant for the last 9 years, he has advised integrated energy groups, wholesale market operators, gas and electricity utilities in enhancing their strategies and optimizing their business plans in the context of the liberalized/regulated European Energy Markets, mainly in France and in the UK, but also in other European countries (Spain, Sweden, Ireland, Benelux, …), such as :
- Competitive gas purchasing strategies for a CHP plant and for a gas/district heating distributor
- Commercial assistance to new entrants in the retail gas supply business in France and in Spain
- Research of suitable green field locations for a CCGT project in France
- Restructuring of the gas transmission/distribution and supply sector in Bangladesh
- Review of gas tariffing and market segmentation for the French and British markets
On a number of occasions, Didier acted as an associate of consulting organizations such as Gas Strategies, Sofreco, and as market advisor to business law firms. He is also an associate of ARCLES.
His academic background include the Ecole Polytechnique of Paris, a Master degree in Petroleum Engineering from IFP School, the Executive MBA from HEC Group.
