Industry Expert : Hans de Leur

Hans is an independent consultant with almost 20 years experience in management consultancy. After working with PA Consulting Group, he became senior manager in the Utility Practice of Arthur D. Little and partner with Investment Management and Consulting Group. Hans has carried out a largeHans de Leur number of assignments in both the public and private sector, focussing on business transformation, energy and technology management and strategy development and implementation.


In the past ten years Hans has worked intensively in the Utility sector in The Netherlands. His clients include all major Dutch Utility companies. Hans has an excellent understanding of the Dutch utility market model and the associated processes, both from a network and a business perspective. On behalf of the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs he carried out a review of the proposed implementation schedule for gas and electricity market liberalisation, resulting in a revised and accelerated timetable. In the UK Hans was a member of the management team of the Central Integration and Design Authority for the 1998 Electricity Programme.


Holding a degree in Chemical engineering from Delft Technical University Hans started his career with Exxon Chemicals in Rotterdam.
