Industry Expert : Karlheinz Bendzko

Karlheinz has worked in the energy sector for over 30 years. He hasgathered expertise in the cooperation with regional energy distribution companies and with multi – utilities of some of the new EU member states. He started his career as geophysicist in the E & P business of oil and gas and went Karlheinz Bendzkothrough the entire value added energy chain.

Karheinz was holding a variety of positions on a director level in transmission and regional distribution companies in Germany, Poland and Slovakia working for British Gas, VNG AG and other companies. Between 1997 and 2003 he has been a member of the Working Party on Gas of the UN Economic Commission for Europe.

Since 2004 he is running his own energy consultancy business by focussing the activities on

• Accomplishment of technical EU standards in the energy business of some of the new EU member states

• Business assistance on energy sector due diligence for investors

• Review of smart metering market entry strategies under the conditions of a highly segmented energy market

• Participation in border crossing energy transmission project studies
