Industry Expert : David Gosling

David GoslingDavid has over 30 years experience in the energy supply industry. As an engineer he was involved in all aspects of the physical delivery of electricity before taking up various commercial roles prior to the privatisation of gas and electricity industries and the associated deregulation of supply. As a member of the team formed by National Power to develop a competitive supply business he was responsible for many of the significant successes in contract negotiations and oversaw the increase in sales between 1993 and 1996. He worked with Enron between 1996 and 1998, developing their electricity supply capability in conjunction with the acquisition of a gas supply operation. His interest in compliance with business process and programme management led to him becoming Director of Regulatory Risk Management with Independent Energy until 2001.

As a consultant David has been involved in many projects including Code of Practice compliance for domestic energy contracts for the supply industry, and achieving Renewable energy accreditation for small generating projects. As a complimentary skill associated with energy usage he has obtained qualifications to carry out energy audits for domestic and commercial buildings enabling Energy Performance Certificates to be issued to relevant bodies.
